Recent price paid in Chicago area?

Tried to search for recent posts about prices in Chicago area but couldn't find any. Anyway, how much have people been paying in this area? I know in CA $500 over invoice seems like the norm but I have a hard time finding postings from people in Chicago area. Dealers are asking about $1200 to $1500 over invoice through email and phone, so I'm hoping to get around $800 or lower, is it possible?

Thanks.

FWIW, I got a consistent $1200 over invoice 'best offer' from several dealers in the greater SF Bay Area, and it was combined with full markups on MF and Acqu fees, plus lots of other noodling... If it were a clean $500/over I'd be in a 330 right now.

(so yea, I'm still in the hunt. Any SF-area dealers want to see me @ $1k over and buy rate for a 36/15k lease?)

I had to pay sticker, and there are like 5 BMW dealers within 40 miles of each other, but I really didn't have much of a choice since I was doing ED. If buying from the lot, maybe some $$$ off sticker

i dont know if this will help you at all but i paid 1100 over in the greater boston area. 800 seems pretty low for this car and i am assuming that the chicago market is pretty similar to boston. i dont think you should pay any more than 1200 over. im sure some people in this forum will tell you that they paid 500 over but they probably spent a lot of time and effort to save a couple hundred dollars. just my 2 cents

Western suburbs

Hey, I just negotiated a lease and did it over the web, using Edmunds. I negotiated fairly quickly, and ordered a vehicle to my specs for a lease. My "purchase" price was 1500 over invoice. Now, in the past, I've bought off the lot and negotiated much lower, but this time I was ordering and also negotiating money factors and residuals. I'm sure if it was a straight off-the-lot purchase, end of the month, crappy weather, etc. (my usual tactics!), I could have gotten the purchase price down more. This is dealing with 2 dealers in the western/northern suburbs.

So far it's down to $1250 including maco ($250). I wanted $800 so it's still $450 in the difference.

Another dealer was about to give us $800 over invoice, but we felt pressured to make the purchase right away, so we decided not to go with them right away.

I wasn't expecting the maco of $250 and it wasn't factored into their "over invoice" price. Will see what happens tomorrow.
