328 rear window/quarter window trim removal
Hey all,
Driving down the interstate today, heard a loud bang near my rear window. Pulled over to see this: Looks like something smashed into my rear window/quarter window pillar while driving. Loud enough to scare the shit out of me, but no idea what caused it. Took about 30 minutes of bending the piece back out so I could get the window to roll up. Now I need to replace this piece, it's mangled from the pliers and not letting the window seal properly. I believe I found the right part, shown here as #5 (Part Number: 51347060255) Looking at the part online, it looks like there are three screws that hold this piece in place. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/51347060255/ I think I'll have to remove the interior door panel, and then pry away the rounded trim that follows the window line, then hoping to find those three screws behind the trim. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I can't find anything online that shows someone removing this part.

I'll be interested in knowing as well, since the leading edge of that piece is starting to rust on my E90.
Good thing it hit the pillar and not the window. |

The inside moulding for that part comes off without having to remove door panel I believe. At least thats the way mine is with the rear sun screen's.

I think the sun screen version is different, my version looks like this. Appears to be one piece and the end tabs are definitely behind the door panel:
