Any Port Charleston dockings April 3-7?
I'm going to be in Charleston next week visiting my family. From the deck on the back of my parent's house, you have a clear view of the shipping lane coming in to the harbor (albeit it's about a mile and half away). You can easily see the large cargo vessels with an unaided eye, and with a spotting scope, you can sometimes make out the large lettering on the side of the ships. If there are any BMW-carrying ships docking at the port while I'm there, I was thinking of going down there and seeing what I can see. Maybe they would let me tour the facilities. If not, maybe I can grab a photo w/ my 300mm telephoto lens from afar of them unloading those German beauties to their first taste of American soil. Of course, I would post those photos on this forum when I return.
Me personally, my baby's still in Bremerhaven (at least occording to OC and the 1-800 lady), so I won't have a chance of seeing my own car being unloaded. But it would be interesting to see what the process looks like anyway. On the WW tracking site, I can only find a way to search for vessels departing today onwards, so all those arrival dates are after next week. How can I find out what/when is arriving next week (April 3-7)? |
