I have a 2007(12/2006 prod) 328xi that lost power everywhere except to the front positive post. The key FOB just slides in and out and no components have power. This happened after replacing the negative battery cable and IBS.

I checked all fuses in the glove fuse box, and replaced the rear distribution box, positive battery cable/BST, terminal 30g relay, and it's the second new, fully charged and load tested battery.

I also opened up the ecu compartment and checked the 2 fuses I could find.
There is also a pink relay that I have no idea of it's function. This car has been grounded for several months now. It's become personal and don't want to have to take it to the stealer. Any ideas of what it could be or what I missed?

Check grounding strap cable underneath the car. Commonly corroded and causes slew of problems that you described.

Thanks Wolf. I bet this is it because I don't get a spark when connecting the negative cable. Can you tell me where that cable is? I looked under there, but didn't see it. There is a panel that looks like it can be removed, maybe above that?

There are a few grounding straps in the engine bay that corrode I would check those.

The website shows that this is on the driver's side under the motor...

Exactly as John described it.

You will need to get to it from underneath the vehicle, drop the under body panel. Rough position is around the firewall on drivers side.

Yeah I believe the one just underneath the driver side goes bad most of the times...
