Question Decent deal on a 2007 335i?

Hey guys... First post and need some thoughts...

Thinking about getting into a demo 335i. It has just under 9,000 miles and has Cold Weather Package, Premium Package, Steptronic and Comfort Access. The dealer will CPO the vehicle and sell it for $37K + tax with a warranty through 10/31/2012.

Decent deal? Do better? Thoughts?

Thanks!

10/31/2012?
That means in service date was 10/31/2006. That is far over a year. That means maintanance is only included until 10/31/2010 or 41000 more miles.
On the other hand the price is good.
Take it if the condition is new would be my comment.

Is this is coupe or a sedan...... It sounds like a good deal but why the 9K demo miles....? Are sure that it was not a dealer service loaner?

Ah... So the CPO warranty doesn't include maintenance outside the original 4yr term. Good to know. Didn't think about that.

I'm sorry. It was a loaner and not a demo. And it is a sedan. It's been a LONG day.

Thanks.

I think it is a good deal if you like the car the way it is with all of it options.....But I would buy a new one and do $1K over ED if I were you. If you have time to wait for a new car, doing a Euro Delivery $1K over will cost you around $41,150.00 plus tax & fees for a car w/ same options. It is something to keep in mind.

I think it's a bad deal. My coupe was (let's use real numbers, they put things into perspective) 44,470 and has the same equipment plus ZSP. I dunno, that's worth $1100? Coupe over sedan, another $1900? So this loaner car sold new for 41,470. After one year on the road, they're willing to take off another $4470? No thank you, the car lost close to 9k in depreciation. In the above assumption, my coupe was discounted $1700. Today, a sedan would be discounted far more than that. But forgetting this is '08, I'd rather pay $4470 more for brand-new. Since the discount is even larger in reality, we may really be talking closer to $3200. No-brainer to pass on the 37k E90.

Interesting take. Appreciate the comments.

Doing a search, there are no pre-owned 335i sedans even close to this... Most are running 39K and up. That even makes more sense to go new.

However, I was really hoping to keep the cost down. Maybe it's a new 328i? ugh... Decisions, decisions.

Go Manual!

Do you need an automatic?

When you look at an an amazing automotive achievement like you have in a 3-series, you sould seriously consider a stick shift. Depite what I have seen in talk, I have had NO problem selling my wonderful cars that have had manual transmission. Pick a good car, and when you sell, post it as "fun." Married? maybe a different story...but single - pick fun!

Final thought..if you like the car and the price is right (for you), go for it! Just remember to appreciate the engineering as you drive it - don't discount that your next next one might be manual (relatives will scoff, but I just sold my 2003 330i 6-speed manual with perf package to my brother-in-law and he loves it!). Any DRIVER would.

A new 328i costs less in a number of ways. You would want 6MT, instead of Step on a 328i because it doesn't get the better Step that its brother, 335i, has.

Long story short, imho, a new car is only 3k more than that deal. I understand that demand is the ability and willingness to pay. It is very possible that a 335i is a stretch because it's a lot for a car--that 3k more may break the bank. But I'd still rather pay 3k more for brand-new--these cars have been out a long time now and are not exactly selling like hotcakes...many on the lots.

If money is a concern, I'd rather go the new 328i route. For me, it's all about the deal. And one has to remember the dealer psychology as well. When I test drove a E92 335 on a Fri. in Oct 2k6, the saleswoman was firm, NO discount, it's a new car, none are in stock, list price. I told a guy on the lot that and he burst out laughing, saying it must be my first BMW. Wait until Monday when they'll be giving you thousands off. Sure enough, he was right, maybe not thousands, but $1700.

I do not quite get the "only 3 k more for a new car thing...."
A car like that would be 45.475. Even with a spectecular discount it would be *far* more than $3000 more. Furthermore the extended warranty that runs at about $2500 value....

Just my .02 ....

I would LOVE a manual, but before the Acura I had a G35 coupe 6mt, but had to depart with it due to 1) Baby on the way and 2) Wife couldn't drive stick.

I suppose you could argue that it's a sin to put an automatic transmission in this type of car... But I don't want to sleep on the floor if I were to bring home another manual transmission car.

Just a quick update...

Still on the fence on this... Looking for other deals in the Chicago-area and have found a few, but nothing really as close to what I'm considering.

With the snow recently, I don't anticipate the car disappearing... But the weekend looks decent. Might have to make a decision quick!

Why not do a fast ED,get exactly what you want, for close to the same money as the '07 ? Plus there is great financing which could end on Friday,so you should get a credit app submitted asap in case you decide to go that way.You don't need a vin number to lock in the rate..

While I can't argue that it's a bad idea... ED is simply not a realistic option right now given my schedule, etc...

FYI, don't believe the notion that you have to do a nationwide search for a BMW. For pete's sake, every dealership has more than they can sell on the lots, and the economy is not exactly causing a shortage of BMWs. There have to be at least 11 BMW dealerships in a 25-mile radius where I live. Guess what? They're all willing to slice the other guy's throat when it comes to pricing. A buyer just needs to do his due diligence. E90 335xi, which of the 25 in stock would you like? Did you check the dealership 3k miles away, you might be able to save $199. LOL

This is actually a good deal. I just got a 06 335i for 29,495 with 21 000 miles on it. I had previously a 06 325i but totaled it three weeks ago(uhhh). Has sports, premium, and steptronic in monaco blue, beige dakota interior. The dealer asked originally for 34 but i got it down to the above price. I also suggest you looking into the 2006 models. Same body.... way better price. Yours has very low miles though but for me this wasnt a big concern because i dont drive a lot. Do not buy a brand new car - you will be loosing a shit load of money. These cars depreciate only the first year or so. After that you are looking at a steady rate.
