Custom Valvetronic Exhaust for my e91 (iPE)
Just wanted to share my new exhaust setup!
The draw for a valvetronic exhaust for me is the ability to quiet the cabin whenever I want, for a phone call, for a long cruise on the highway, or for a ride with colleagues. Anyways, I had an iPE exhaust for my R56 JCW, and one of the welds broke. iPE replaced it and I held on to the damaged exhaust. This thread was the one that got me thinking that I could adapt the leftovers to my car - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...3#post22049633 I bought this and it works great... I did not use the cutout piping, just the remote vacuum pump - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here is the broken exhaust... Well, I found a shop that was willing to help make what I had fit my e91. They did a resonator delete, and they modified the tips of the exhaust so that they are staggered. I think it turned out great! resonator delete

From the iPE site:
All iPE exhaust systems come with a Valvetronic muffler. A Valvetronic muffler (or valve-controlled muffler) includes exhaust valves which can influence the stream/flow of the exhaust gases. The exhaust valves can be controlled manually as well as automatically. The inner structure of the muffler (also called back-box or silencer) are individually designed with the emphasis on upgrading performance and sound, in terms of torque and horsepower as well as sound volume and sound character. iPE’s Valvetronic exhaust systems essentially upgrade two aspects: performance and sound. Performance: When the valves are closed, torque can be increased enormously at the lower rpm range. When the valves are open, dramatic horsepower gains can be reached at the higher rpm range. Sound: With closed valves, the exhaust sound is sporty but comfortably quiet. All vibrating, drone resonance (annoying frequencies inside the car at certain rpm) are cancelled out, so that the driver and passengers can experience a comfort and relaxed ride. With open valves, the exhaust sound becomes as sporty and breathtaking as it gets. The trademark sound of iPE can now be enjoyed without limitations.
