But wouldnt a custom tune (for the PE and PI) add more than the 5hp and 3hp claimed by BMW ?

The combination of these two with a tune must add 20hp or so ?

Things like the PE and PI dont really need a "custom" tune.

The DME is smart enough to detect these mods and makes adjustments accordingly (hence the reason BMW claims some hp on it).

I would say you can get around 8-10 hp combined. I have been running this setup as well.

Now custom tune for a catless car would be better as the dme cannot change the engine managment for a mod that extreme.

I may as well double post this for folks outside of the NE area:

Here are links to two photos, one of each side of the manifold. I labeled them actuators. I also labeled the oil separator, but worst case scenario is that there's one on your car you can use. These are the pics the parts place sent me, I just added the boxes and text.

Once you find one, you should order the gasket set, but that's like $20 from Tischer. Also, assuming everything's attached, you won't need bolts.

Sooooo 6 years later; without a single issue with this tune/swap, I have to say that this was probably the best mod I made to my car. I havent been active much on the forums in the last years, but I got a new car, so all the old habits came back in force

Those who are still on the fence about this mod can now get the parts they need for dirt cheap, even here on the forum. I, for one, had to say goodbye to my beloved E90 and say hello to my new 340I friend. My E90's buyer will have a lot of fun with this car.

I hope my F30 build will be just as epic as this one. I might not take as many chances tho LOL I've been the guinnea pig for a couple mods too many on this car. Some were not that successful ahah. But MPPSK is a good start

I can still answer some questions if any of you have any. Its been a long time now so I might not remember all the small details, but I'll at least try.

At the time, I decided to go brand new through Tischer. Gain was very noticeable. The swap and the tune gave me 40+ whp.
