Got the car back from the BMW dealership yesterday.. They said that they saw nothing wrong visually but confirmed that it is not acting right. They reset the adaptations in the DME and transmission. Now it is worse than before. What does that mean?

In means the problem is getting worse or the TCU is having a difficult time adjusting the parameters to the correct values. It may get back to it's "original" self but it will take several driving cycles.

I still feel that continued use of this transmission is likely to cause more damage.

I agree. Going to carmax tomorrow. If their offer is to my liking, I'm going to let it go.

CarMax offered me $7,000. Going to take it to the dealer that has the car I want and see what they'll offer on trade

I find hard to believe they offer you 7 k for a 2007 328... i would ve taken it and run

Highly doubt dealer would offer you more

Unless u live outside of the us or something.

At 7k there is not money to be made for a dealer

I had my 2007 Z4 at a dealer the other day and he offered me $500.00. Granted, I have 200,000 miles on the car.

I'm not finished with the dealer yet, but I'll probably end up giving them the same type of offer on their car. Life's too short. For now, I'm still letting him try to reach me. I've already turned sour on the car I was looking at anyways.

Take that offer and keep running! No questions! No haggling! If you have to tear into that trans,it's $2,500 on just the low end. That's if you can pick up a good used one with labor. Find something with a warranty,there is so many dealers out there now a days,it's just a matter of one that will suit you.

Sold the car for $7,250 at another dealer. I bought a 2013 Volkswagen GTI Wolfsburg Edition over the weekend. So far I'm loving the new car!
