Question for those who have set timing on an n52 before

Hey all, I'm trying to set the cam timing per the TIS instructions. I'm using the AST branded vanos/cam tools and the correct crankshaft pin.

Is it normal to have a slightly loose fit between the cam position sensor rings on the front t of the vanos adjusters, and the pins on the alignment tool?

With the cam tools in place, and the main vanos cam bolts finger tight I can rotate the sender rings about 1.5mm left and right. AST tells me some play is normal but I'd appreciate a confirm/deny from anyone who has done this job before please.

All new rings/bolts/tensioner etc being used.

Thank you
