Order of upgrades towards FBO

I can't seem to find any install order when it comes to working towards FBO. I'm trying to space out the parts so that I don't go too crazy and I am trying to decide whether to install an aftermarket chargepipe with BOV or the VRSF 7" HD intercooler. Does it matter which is first?

Charge pipe will give you zero to little gains. its more of a point of failure thing. That said, i would start there.
Then go Tune, DP, IC

After these necessary mods are done there ain't no looking back as the dealer man has you hooked, and owns you.

Ill go tune first then chargepipe cause our stock cp barely handles the stock boost so upping the boost will literally blow it to hell

Charge pipe and BOV is mainly to either want a BOV or to replace a broken stock charge pipe. Doesn't matter when you do the charge pipe but sooner then later if you want to avoid being stranded from a cracked one - especially after tuning.

Although opinions may differ I prefer to recommend mods in the following order:

Tune
Charge Pipe
Intake
FMIC
Downpipe

Although you can't go wrong with either first, I like the FMIC shortly after the tune to suppress IAT. Also doing anything other then the tune first will yield minimal gains.

yeah, Im down with Tune first (especially if its winter and you can get a few months of cold air) and then IC and CP.. and whatever else.

The only exception is IS cars. Their CPs are inherently flawed and should be #1.

If it changes any of your answers, I bought the car and it already has vrsf catless DPs, cobb tune and dual cone intakes. Is the resounding answer still a chargepipe?

Thank you for all the replies so far.

i would do the charge pipe first...if your stock charge pipe blows you usually lose the stock c clip and the replacement is around $30 and leave you stranded on the road.

I say charge pipe, mhd-tune, dci, fmic, dp

If you run JB4 its always better to run the MHD BEF and you can always buy a tablet for cheap but in the end its your decision so do whatever fits your budget and preference!

Is the MHD BEF that much better than a cobb tune? I eventually want to go single turbo, so I think I'll get the OEM replacement CP from VRSF.

If you are going single turbo down the road I believe that it will be important if not crucial to get the BEF because it keeps the safety features of the JB4 while actually flashing your DME instead of using a piggyback by itself. You can always change the BEF once you get your single turbo too because the flash is literally 1-2 minutes after the initial flash.

I have a very vague understanding of how these both work. Is there a guide I can read somewhere for some insight? First car I've had that I've wanted to do this type of work to.

Don't forget MAINTENANCE.

Things like all fluids, brake pads/rotors/sensors, vacuum lines, plugs, potentially coils and walnut blast should be on your radar.

i consider that maintence more then upgrades. Personally i keep my stuff stock until it present a problem, then when i have to replace stuff i pay the premium and upgrade to the better stuff.

like i was due for rotors/pads so i upgraded and did upgraded rotors, pads, fluid and ss lines.

Walnut blasting i did days before setting up my meth kit, which helps to keep it clean for alot longer.

vacuum lines upgraded when relocation for inlets/outlets happened.

coils/plugs when they started to misfire went for MHD and Cold run.

Would i of touched it if i didnt need to? probably not

Outstanding; enjoy the ride!

Mine has 102k miles and I've been driving it for nearly a decade. Not sure I'd trade it for a new one...
