Adding OEM Bluetooth To '10 With MULF
Hey guys,
I've searched and searched, and haven't been able to find an answer. I have an '10 with iPhone/USB on a base stereo, so it has the MULF/BT module in the trunk. However, when I retrofitted the auto-dim/HL/compass rear view, I checked for BT mic wiring, and didn't see anything. What do I need to do to get Bluetooth in my car? I found this kit- https://m.ebay.com/itm/Car-Microphon...%257Ciid%253A1 But am not confident that's what I need, and also not confident it's OEM/Genuine parts. Thanks for your time guys, Tyler Last edited by TylerJamesInc; 10-07-2017 at 08:35 PM.. |

When you say Bluetooth do you mean phone only or A2DP
music streaming because they are different things. OEM bluetooth music streaming can only be done with an idrive and a combox. It will not work with the Pro Radio. You can retrofit USB if you have or want to add or have a Mulf 2 Hi . Aftermarket streaming is possible. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1428082 Last edited by ctuna; 10-07-2017 at 05:36 PM.. |

Thanks ctuna.
I am only referring to hands-free calling- that's why I mentioned the lack of mic wiring. I already have the USB/MULF2, and am trying to figure out exactly what is needed to get the bluetooth(calling) enabled. |

Thanks for your help! More input still appreciated. I'm assuming activating it is pretty simple for someone familiar with coding. Thanks again all, Tyler |

I am not 100% sure with MULF, i did a headunit retrofit.
For that BMW actually makes a retrofit cable that you just need to pin into the oem harness. I am not sure if that works in your case (its possible that the harness would carry the bt mic signal back to the mulf) There are some good threads on this exact retrofit though. Thats how i know its just mic wore and coding. |

Read through those links, and wasn't able to find what I need.
I also looked to see if I have the antenna wiring- and didn't see it- but maybe it's tucked down by the FRM more? Here's what I have-

The last pic is most likely the antenna wire. The BT antenna would be behind a panel under the steering column (with the BT speaker), which is what I think I see in the second pic. The antenna is a odd-shaped black box, approx. 2"x4"x1", part number 84506928461

From what I've gathered, I need the antenna and wire, as well as the mic and wiring. I've had no success finding either of that wiring available separately. Apparently, this isn't a common retrofit at all

Hey guys, I'm right here! Always awkward when people talk about you when you're standing right there

I was hoping to be able to buy only the wiring I need- aerial wire and 3 mic wires. Not that it's a huge deal, but if I got the kit you posted, I would have to replace the harness going from the head unit to the combox that is already in place. I've only been on here since we bought our first E90 a few years ago- is Bimmertech for the noobs or something? : Pic of refinished brakes for something to look at.

Bimmertech can give you exactly what you need including remote
coding to enable the features you want . You may need to and Icom Cable to be able to code your new features and they can provide that. They have a good solutions for audio upgrades with a Helix 82dsp kit. Bimmertech and bimmerretrofits have complete solutions and take care of the remote coding necessary for them. They can also help with partial upgrades. Coding can be filled with potholes and unexpected obstructions. |

Oh, of course; I've looked at Bimmertech's audio options before. I definitely need to upgrade my audio as well.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'm pretty surprised this is such an uncommon retrofit. It's so incredibly simple. I have a great coding buddy local to me. Since the wiring is seemingly impossible to buy new, I guess I'll just have to pull the wiring from a local part out. Thanks again for the suggestions guys.

I'm kind of surprised that this is an option at all it should
be standard in this day and age and you shouldn't have to pay extra for it. Since hands free is a law in a lot of states now . And there is so little hardware that has to be added. Bimmertech does more than just the kits they will help with your individual issue , so will Bimmergeeks.net |

Oregon- where I live- just passed a very aggressive cell-phone-use-while-driving law. 1st time caught touching your phone(even at a red light) is $1k ticket, 2nd offense is $2,500, 3rd is $10k and jail time! Although aggressive, I don't disagree with it. Hopefully there will be a decrease in phone-related accidents. Anyway, yeah, I wish it came equipped.
