All the other rwd sedans? That's a long list. The anemic and stripped out 320i or this. I really can't see why he'd be so bold to compare this to the sacred BMW.

We have two Kias in the family. My wife's Soul had ZERO issues over 9 years of ownership and my daughter just got a new Forte, absolutely loaded for a true bargain price. The Stinger might just be the third... I am really looking forward to driving one, hopefully soon. I only wish it was a bit smaller and lighter...
I for one bought my 135i because of the engine and RWD, the roundel had little to do with why I own this particular BMW. And last time I checked, nobody is embarrassed to own a Samsung phone, I really hope Hyundai/Kia will one day have the same brand image. Having said that, they better come up with a better looking badge... cannot get much more generic than what they have now. |

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Kia has come a long way in terms of design and research but it's still a Kia. It took toyota and Honda and Nissan etc..a long time before they were taken seriously by auto enthusiasts and when they finally made it they realized they need to crest luxury divisions to compete wirh the likes of BMW and Audi and so on, hence Lexus, Acura and Infiniti. To this day they still haven't been able to defeat those brands although Lexus has done better than most and narroeing the gap. I'm glad you don't think like most and are going to shop for Kia but I'm afraid you're in minority. Most people here won't, not yet anyways. Cheers.. |

KIA/Hyundai definitely have my attention. Give them 5 years, should have something to rival the outstanding M cars of yesteryear.

Seems like a solid car... the question is how many are people willing to pay 40k when numerous bmw's are available? I could be wrong but I hope this doesnt go the way of the Genesis brand. The resale value on expensive Korean cars is unlike anything the world has ever seen before

It looks great in person too. I had the chance to see one up close at the mall not too long ago.
Unfortunately, I'm just not that confident in its sales potential. Not only is it entering a dying market (large sedans), but Kia also has no brand value to anybody looking for a performance car. |

Nothing sets it apart IMO. Just another sedan going down the road. |
