What exactly are you trying to find?
There are two vacuum sources in N52, one is from a vacuum pump that is run by the engine. The vacuum from this goes to brake booster. It is completely separate from the intake vacuum. The other vacuum source is intake vacuum like most other engines, but less amount of vacuum due to valvetronic usage. I assume you are asking about this intake vacuum and the lines. The CCV works on vacuum from intake. The link Volasko provided has all the CCV related hoses and parts and how they are attached. It doesn't have the intake manifold displayed there, but you can find intake diagram in realoem also. If you want how CCV works with the vacuum take a look at this one: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=internals+ccv If you are looking for a "vacuum diagram" like usually given for more regular engines using throttle plate for intake air control, I don't know if there is one for these engines because they work differently. There is probably one "vacuum diagram" sticker under the hood, check that out. I don't remember well if there was one, I kind of remember there is one but I never paid attention to it. It maybe or may not be useful. |

thanks for the reply and link.
I have the p0171 , p0175 codes and p2402 I am just trying to understand what vac/ccv lines I have. valve cover is metal. I don't see a pulley that would run a vacuum pump , but need to smoke test and take some stuff apart. Also, some possible disa rattle |

The vacuum pump for the brake booster is driven internally by a chain inside the engine, you can only see the pump body, under the intake manifold towards front of engine. But that vacuum circuit is completely separate from intake vacuum.
There indeed is a vacuum diagram sticker under the hood just seen mine the other day, but it is very concise. I think it is DOT requirement to have vacuum diagram under the hood. |
