Chicago Pot Hole City recommendations?

Recently picked up an 08 335 XI coupe sitting on KW3 coilovers. Previous setup was
19x8.5 ET17
19x10 ET25

Owner had no issues with fitment.
I decided not to go with them and put the stock wheels S2KGA BMW LA wheel V-spoke 188

Not a fan of the look so want to upgrade the wheel setup. I'm thinking going with 18" wheel squared setup (18x9 et35 with 255/35). Easy on the wallet, better for AWD, more tire protection from potholes (lost 2 tires on my other car 19").

Would anyone recommend something else?

That ET35 needs to be checked on front strut. I'm looking to do same size tires and wheels but ET30.
