Gary,
Will the TPMS sensors you carry work on a 2007 E60 525i ? or do you carry those.

might be a stupid question but what the hell
does one need to have the tpms, if getting another set of rims/tires? i dont really care about the car telling me i have low pressure or a flat. these are both things i can figure out myself, and i dont do a lot of driving anyways if i put on a set of new rims and rubber with no tpms, will i have to reset anything in my car? oh and i am in canada by the way, so i assume i have tpms, or something like it |

Hi Garry, I tried to order one set of TPMS for my 07 328 through your link, but the website didn't allow me to order them without ordering wheel/tire package. Do I need to call you to order only?

TPMS setup
After browsing through Ebay I have been tempted to buy a nice set of 18" wheels.
After some research on the TPMS subject, I got scared about the fact that each sensor has its own ID and that has to be taught to the ECU. If that is true, no matter how I get new rims with new OEM sensors, I still have to take them to the BMW dealer to reprogram the ECU. Is that right? I would like to have some insight from somebody that has successfully replaced his/her stock wheels by a completely new set of wheels + tires + TPMS and how they had it done to avoid the annoying warning messages in the dashboard. What happens if I go back to the stock wheel set? Does the ECU have to be reprogrammed again? Thank you. |

Yes, the OEM sensors will work fine. Order them up from Gary@Tirerack and save a few bucks too.

I have the the OEM sensors in my 20s. I run 38 all around. I had a slow leak in a tire and I noticed it would trigger my TPMS when it hit around 25psi. It did it consistently. |

Trust me on this, I swapped four wheels with TPM's for four different wheels with four TPM's. No attention was paid to which sensor went where and the TPM monitoring works just dandy. And for those that think they do not need TPM's with run flat tires, you are not smart enough to own a nice car IMO. With a run flat tire, how do you tell if the tire is ever low without TPM? Had that crossed your mind. Unless you monitor pressures regularly (i.e. every day) you will not know when things get too low or you have a nail in a tire. With a normal tire, it goes flat, the car pulls to one side, it bulges...not with run flats. |

New TPMS reset
Dear Hoehne
Thank you for advising and I apologize for the late response (been out of country and the wheel project got delayed, so the response). I have just got 199 wheels and tires and the TPMS are expected at any time. Will do as you just said. Best regards, Flavio |
