Thunderhill 3 or 5 mile course for track newbie?
Guys,
I am making plans for my first ever track day this fall at Thunderhill in northern California. They have track days for either a 3 mile or a 5 mile course. The date for the next 5 mile track day works best for me, but the HOD website recommends doing the 3 mile course first. For anyone who has done both courses - what do you think? Is the 5 mile course OK for beginners, or should I wait until I can make it to a track day on the 3 mile course? Thanks, Robert |

Thanks, I didn't know they had a 2 mile course. Can you elaborate a bit on why you recommend the 3 mile course over the 5 for beginners?

I've only done a ride-along at Thunderhill 2mile but man, what fun, and a LOT more violent than I thought it would be. I can see now why people have harnesses in their cars. The OEM seat belts are just not cut out for the track.
GL dude, share pics and video if you can!
