Will H rated tires be much more comfortable than Y?

Looking to get out of my runflats, which I know will make a huge difference already and was about to order some Pilot Sport A/S 3+. My car currently has H tires - not sure if I should get H or Y. Is H going to give me a softer ride? I'm more interested in comfort than handling at this point as the roads around me are always horrible. Car is a 2009 335i Xdrive coupe with a square setup - 225/45/17

Get H or V rated tires for your purposes. Lookup tirerack ratings for comfort etc. Sort by UTQG, continental purecontacts are great.

Thanks. Looks like the ones I was going to get aren't available in H anyway from Costco. I'll go with the Y

Y is rated up to 186mph whereas H is rated up to 130, this is generally a reflection of the sidewall stiffness and stiffer material. If comfort is what you're looking for, Y would generally be a poor choice. Better off picking off a softer compound H-rated tire.

Thanks. I actually went with the Y since that's what Costco had, and it was a decent deal at $500 for 4 installed. What a difference compared to my runflats. It's like a new car.
