HI guys n girls.

I have been scratching my head and reading the Forum, My E90 has currently 17'' Alloys.

As you can see by the pictures, The gap is quite large above the wheel,

i have read lots on Eibach pro springs, to lower my car.....

I suppose my point is do you think that if I put on 18 '' BMW alloys, it would make the gap less HUGE. if so shall I stagger the wheels?

Or is putting 18'' Wheels on a waste of money, as i will be only moving up 1 inch...
or do i have to go for Pro lowering kit ?

Putting larger wheels on will not close the gap because you will be putting on skinnier tires. You need to keep the tire's circumference the same. You will need to get lowering springs or coilovers.

Hi Saz,

welcome aboard to start with.

As for arch gap, yes the only real way to reduce the gap is with lowering the car. As for what route, well that always depends upon budget. I'd probably just go with a set of Eibach springs certainly and re-use the existing dampers (if they are in decent condition). Once slightly lower you can then make the decision on the wheels.

Wheels however will give an appearance of being lower as the visible black area (combined of the tyre and the arch gap itself) is reduced slightly with the lower profile tyre you would run. And it helps visually as generally they will sit slightly further out than the existing 17's.

If you already have the Eibach Pro-Kit on your car, it shouldn't be that high up. Did you put the right springs on for your car? If you have one of the lighter engines and springs for an E90 with a heavier engine, you could run into issues from that.

Looking at your car, I would guess it's got stock springs...

Put the Bilstein b12 lowering kit on. You will close the gap.
