If you are in Reverse, it should activate the sensor. Then when in drive, after doing this, it should still be active. There is a manual button for this under your stereo deck for any other circumstances.
Once you drive away, unsure of speed, it will de-activate. |

cheers. Just find my sensors hit and miss. If I back out me drive 9pretty flat) it goes nuts for a power pole behind me. but recently parallel parked and it didn't make a sound for the car fair up my clacka and that's not the only time.

PerthBMW is correct. The button is there only if you have front sensors, so you can activate them if you need manually, or deactivate them.
Rear sensors on mine are pretty good, but they always have a caveat not to rely on them 100%. Being a BMW, perhaps don't rely on them 50% ![]()

Rear sensors work great on mine but you can not rush reverse parking because sensor is slower than your movement. I almost tapped a pole thinking sensor will keep up with me haha.

Sensors are kinda ok, they don't pickup the curb well, Install the OEM reverse camera and you get video and sensors together, that's pretty much 100% you wont hit anything
