Riddle me this, maybe I didn't have a bad FRM?

So, BMW diagnosed my car with a faulty FRM and wanted $1200 to fix it. My car would gong a random door was open every 5-10 seconds with a nice loud gong. ALL. THE. TIME. I was going insane. Also you couldn't turn the interior light on cause the open door alert would shut it off when driving. Double annoying. Sometimes keyless entry wouldn't work too.

I'm cheap and my car had a base stereo with no amp. Solution? Aftermarket headunit takes 15 mins to install. No more gong and I can deal with a flashing dash a door is open and no interior light when driving. $90 bandaid to a $1200 problem right?

Wrong.

Since I installed an aftermarket stereo I've not gotten 1 single open door alert. No more dash alerts. Interior light stays on. Key fob works. Zero FRM issues. Car works perfect. Not one single issue.

What?????

Does the stereo sound better?
In 06 cars there was a separate speaker for alarms under
the dash(wheel column area) , this may be an unrelated tidbit

Highly possible there was a miss diagnosis
did they run diags such as Ista on it.

Stereo sounds way better than the crappy professional.
