what is this on my 335d engine??

Hey Guys,

Can anyone tell me what this is on my 335d engine, it looks like there is a bump on the part, see pics attached.

Circled in red.

Vacuum pump with a cover molded for a specific purpose. Don’t worry it’s not a car pimple.

ok cool, I saw some other pics of the diesel engine and they all have that spot, phew!
