Front bumper damaged

I was in the parking light last night and when backing off the car , i heard a scratching sound . I thought it was the front bumper touching the curb , which happens sometimes however when I was over a speed bump I felt the car touching it. Got down to see that the screw holding the front and the bottom of the car was gone and that the plastic base had broken and pushing the bumper down . The bumper is not broken ( has scratches on it at the bottom) however the I cannot get the bumper to get back to its place and the plastic base is stopping it.

I was wondering if it as easy as getting the bumper out , fix the plastic base (not sure how) under the engine where bumper gets screwed and put it back. I am going to take it to a shop today , wanted to see what you guys think.

Will post pic soon.

Just jack it and put the plastic back up by either removing bolts to give slack or remove the bumper (takes no more than 25-30 minutes if you've never done it before). No need for a shop! Goodluck and try not to park over any curbs...

I tried to remove bottom bolts and push the plastic, didnt work. I will try to remove the bumper completely and give it a shot.

Try taking off all the screws on the bottom of the bumper that hold it to the plastic base. If you jack up the car you could get under it and take the front portion of the splash guard/belly pan off. It's just a bunch of 8 or 10mm screws, can't remember which one. On the M tech bumper like you have, there is an insert that screws to the front of the splash guard to support the bumper and help it keep its shape. It looks like this is what has gotten fouled up in your case. If you need to you can order just that part.
Definitely take care of this sooner rather than later. This happened to me and I left it hanging/kind of half-ass fixed for a while, and after getting snagged on one too many parking curbs the bumper cracked completely where it attaches to one of the fenders. Turned into a full replacement and repaint. Ouch!
