What would you do if your tire goes flat.. and...?

You just found out your rear passenger's side tire is reporting 22psi(35psi rest).

You have to travel 200+ highway miles tomorrow, its already 8pm(every shop is closed).
You have to travel very early in the morning, so there is no time to stop by tire shop.

What would you do? I don't know what to do. Im just f***ing frustrated up the ass.
I never really got a flat tire in my life before but this friggin' bmw is giving me 2 already.

About time Im getting sick of my 330i, now its over-heating, giving me a flat tire, cracking my front lip, rockchip on the windshield... list goes on.

Always treat your car with love. or they turn their back on you just like that.

Well, it seems to be a slow leak otherwise it would have happened much faster. I would fill the tire up with air and just check it in the morning. If it hasnt gone down more than a couple lbs youll be fine since it was over 8 hours and it didnt leak that much.

Wait do you have 2 flats at the same time (2 of 4) or just had one fixed and now another one soon after you fixed the first? Also, do you have RFT?

If no RFT and you can't wait because you GOTTA GET THERE to wherever you are going then your options are:

1) Rental or borrow car
2) If you think its a SLOW leak just leave about 15 min earlier and drive ga station. Pump up the air about 38-40psi and then stop at least once on the way to do the same.
3) If its a FAST leak or just plain FLAT then you will need to decide whats more important ,...your getting there tomorrow or buying a new tire. If a new tire doesn't bother you then go to all night walmart and buy one of those flat tire spray repairs to shoot inside the valve stem. Knowing it will likely F-up your valve stem as well. Then do same as #2 above.

Tough situation. Your goal should be just to nurse your wounds enough to get you there if thats your ultimate goal and then fix tomorrow evening or the next day. At least you can reserve a rental wherever you are going. Nurse the car to you destination and rent a car there while yours is in the shop.

Hope this helps.

Do you have the BMW Tire and Rim Warranty?

If you do, just drive back on the flat and get new ones.

i say dont risk it and just rent a car... i mean if you decide to travel with a puncture, even if it's plugged, you still wouldnt know if the plug's going to hold up or not ... who knows the hole might get larger.

Stop at gas station every 15 miles, check and fill the slow-leaking tire with air if necessary.

What about those fix a flat things? Either the one that BMW makes with the compressor and the goo. Or the ones at autozone? Not sure if those work, or if they would ruin you tire/rim, anyone have any experience with these?

If I were you I would just go fix(or get new tire) and then go. OR just rent a car.

I dont recommend to fill up every 15min or something.. never know what might going to happen. if gets bad suddenly you might need to buy even new rim for that..

just get it fix and drive.
Always safety first imo.

my wife was driving the E90 with the left rear tire @15psi for a few days.....

until she picked me up for Happy Hour that i noticed a red icon flashing on the onboard computer........

WTF.....i looked up the symbol.......low psi warning.....

i asked her how long has that symbol popped up........she said the last 3 days......

i pumped up the low psi tire back up to 37psi....reset the red icon.....

a week later.......i checked....the psi is still at 37....

And then have your AAA Premium membership card ready (4 tows, 3 for 100 miles, 1 for 200 miles --- and yes, you can use them back to back if needed).

Been there, done that on a long drive between Nor Cal & So Cal. Had to stop at the gas station every half hour (that's how it took to get there) until finally I couldn't go anymore. Then I AAA tow a total of 237 miles to get my car to my destination and I took care of the tire there. It wasn't the best situation to go through, but it wasn't as bad as you would think.

thank you all for kind advices.

Im currently at where Im supposed to be. I took little bit of every advice in this forum.

a. bought a fix-a-flat just in case.
b. got few triple A numbers and bmw assistant numbers for emergency.
c. checked the pressure in the morning and it only leaked 3psi. assumed it was slow-leak, so I took my chance and filled it up with air and drove.
d. stop after 100miles, checked the pressure, few psi low, filled it up again and drove.

this is why I love taking advices from E90post members. educated and well experienced. Thank you all.

You should buy one of those portable air units so you can inflate your tire. They are cheap.
