Yes, well i'm just outside of New Haven. If you remove the headlights i can open them for you if you want. You'll need to clean the old glue and do the rest of the work to re-seal them however

Hey OP! I recognize seeing your username on myg37. lol I ditched my v36 sedan too for my e90 lci. Picked up a 2011 335i mtech sedan in tiag to be exact. I really miss my 180 custom headlights that were on my G. The oem halogen angel eyes on e90 suck balls. Hope see some pics of your modded lights soon! GL

upgrading lights
Slightly off topic, didnt know how to word this... but its related to opening up the headlight to modify:
Anyone modify a pre-lci, bi-xenon headllight by replacing the low beam with a HID setup? End result that you have 2 projectors with HID & the low beam thats replaced will still have high beam capabilities with the little flap inside the light fixture.... hope this is clear? |

Currently doing this.... I will probably make a DIY if I can snap enough pics
E90 uses permaseal (Vs butyl rubber on E92) and does not soften with heat (500 degree melting point). This leaves you with two options -heat up the black plastic on top of the lens till its soft, pry it back so it exposes the edge of the lense, Scrape beneath the lens to break the permaseal allowing the two to seperate. -cut the black plastic on top of the lens all the way around so the lens edge is exposed, scrape beneath the lens to break the permaseal allowing the two to seperate Then -Scrape away all permaseal and reseal with Butyl Rubber Sealant. That way you CAN heat up the headlight if you need to remove the lens again (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/2518712...lpid=82&chn=ps)

You can also get "windoweld" butyl that is black from autozone/oreillys. It's very similar to the oem butyl used in e92 headlights. |

If you take your time, the first option will come out looking nearly oem.

Ok, so I've retrofit Evo X housings with FX-R before, has anyone retrofit FX-R's into the stock Xenon (non-adaptive) housing on this site?
Here's a link to my previous build: http://www.evolutionm.net/forums/evo...eadlights.html I'm trying to decide what to do as the e90 335i I bought used has some horrible internal cracking on the lenses. |
