How can you determine when your car is built?

I have seen some posts where members state the date their cars were built. How can I find out when my car was 'born'?

1- Open driver's side door
2- Tilt your head sideways
3- Locate the VIN label : you should be able to find your MM/YY build

Alternatively an easier way is to open the door and look to the very bottom of the door pillar. There is a metal plate with your model, VIN, manufacturer date and some other codes.
