Bilstein B4

Hi Guys

I ordered some Bilstein B4 dampers (for sports chassis) which arrived in the post today. When I unpacked them I noticed they retract themselves, they don't push out to their max extension like I thought they would.

Are they faulty? If not how do you pull them out and hold them in place while you fit the springs to the struts??

Have you unpacked fronts or rears?

Fronts, justspoke to Bilstein UK, they are defective, they should extend on their own.

Spoke to a more technical guy at Bilstein who explained the ones I have don't extend fully as they have an internal spring which helps dampen the rebound more effectively. So looks like they are ok after all. Will have to compress the springs well to get them on the struts tho.
