What is an acceptable ammount of boost leak?

After recently smoke testing my car to track down a boost leak on the intercooler hose clamps, I noticed that my BMS charge pipe has a small seep/leak from the motor side mount. I knew my car had a boost leak somewhere because I could hear a "squeal" coming from one of the silicone hoses under boost. Though, considering my charge pipe is metal I knew it wasn't originating from that. I replaced the gasket in between the CP and the motor and there is still a bit of smoke coming out. Is this something that will effect drivability/performance?

It will cause you car to run rich, but it will not be consistent as the temperature changes. I would fix it.

Considering there is only one way the CP mounts to the side of the motor, and there is only one gasket to replace (which I did), what would be the best way to go about fixing it? The charge pipe was the only modification on the car when I purchased it, and if it wasn't there I would've bought a ER CP as it seems much more robust. I know the BMS CP is pretty popular, so I assume this isn't considered "normal".

Still trying to figure this out...

Replacing the plugs and coils this weekend so I will have full access to mess about with the charge pipe. Is there anything to adjust to tighten up the charge pipe? I can move it around slightly, but given the BMS charge pipe doesn't bolt to the metal support for the factory charge pipe, is there any way to even remedy this?

Did the clip give an audible snap when it went in to place? It should. Mine took a lot of force to get it fully on. I know some CP's use a larger than stock o-ring, not sure about yours as I have the ER. Best of luck.

Yeah, clip is locked in. The O-ring that I replaced with an OEM BMW O-ring was exactly the same size and it didn't look like a bigger one could be installed.
