VO change help, MULF2 conversion
Hopefully someone cant give me some pointers as to what i'm going wrong.
I've retrofitted a MULF2 to my car, which originally had MULF1, the car needs coded for the MULF2 (the bluetooth shows up with the old cars VIN) and i'd like to activate USB at the same time. I've done lots of searching trying to get my head round what i need to do, and from what i can tell i need to do the following: Add $6FL (and +IPOD and +KMP3) to the cars VO (both CAS and FRM), using FA_WRITE job. Run SA_CODERIEN on the whole car, to update the various modules to deal with the MULF2. I've run into a problem though, that i believe is related to build date, but i cant figure out from other posts what i'm supposed to do. Other posts suggest i need to "trick" NCSExpert into thinking i have a newer car, by editing the VO in NCS but not writing it out. Giving a procedure that looks something like this: add 6fl/ipod/kmp3 to VO Write VO to CAS and FRM edit build date in VO from 0306 to *something newer* but DONT write. Run SG_Coderien on all modules. However i cant seem to get past the first step here. I connect to the car, load the existing VO values etc and that all works fine. I then open the edit FA screen and add $6FL: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mpf8o7eznm...input.png?dl=0 When i click OK, i get this warning: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uz6zdaxmlm...rror1.png?dl=0 And the FA gets erased in the box at the top. If i then click back and try to Process ECU, the screen has no options available: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pagc6xk63d...creen.png?dl=0 If i go back in and erase 6FL, the FA line reappears and the options all reappear on the main screen. I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers here! I tried to edit the build date to a later date, but i then got the same error box with the date in it instead of the 6FL code. Cheers Kev |

No-one has any ideas?
I'm wondering if i simply need to update the datens files? I've since downloaded V55, but not tried again since then. Would be helpful if someone could tell me if i'm doing the right thing here! Cheers Kev |

Had +ULF2 or +MULF2 to the VO. (I don't remember if is the first or second)
I already have done this on mine e91 2007 build. If wont work after this change, change production date for 0307, 0908 or something like this. Only problem that I had encountered is that aux won't work anymore. Just usb. |

you need to change (delete and add new) #0306 time criteria to #0307 and add 6fl, you do not need kmp3 and ipod
do not write this to FRM because after 03/07 you should have NFRM but you have only FRM perform SG_CODIEREN job againt RAD2 or RAD and ULFHI module if you haven't wired your aux from HU to MULF2HIGH - you'll lose it

aux routed only to mulf2high and combox
if you have, tcu, mulf or simple mulf2 your aux will be routed to HU

It' just like it was, but I chose Aux on radio menu and get no sound from it. My car was factory fitted with mulf2 without USB, just Aux. Years later I changed my mulf module for one with USB.

you should reroute your aux cable or change option inside HU to return aux to HU

Thanks i'll give it a try at the weekend.
Are you saying i dont need to write 6FL to the CAS/FRM? just change it on the fly inside NCSExpert then run the coding? I cant get my head round that concept... If 6FL isnt in the VO, how will it work? Or do i write 6FL to the VO but then only change the date on the fly? I've not rerouted the Aux lead yet, but i've also not run the USB cable. I will run both together at the same time and patch Aux into the MULF2. Thanks. |

Help with MULF2_HI retrofit
Hey guys, for those of you who did the MULF2 retrofit, any ideas?
Before: MULF2/iDrive Bluetooth working. Voice commands NOT Working. USB N/A $644 and $620 from factory. Datecode #0610 After: MULF2_HIGH_SYS/iDrive Bluetooth NOT Wotking. Voice Comomands NOT Working. USB NOT working. $644 and $620 from factory. Added $6FL + Write FA. Should i try with a different Date code? Should i do SG Codieren? May be some variable there Not_Aktive? Which ones should be active for VC/Bluetooth/USB? Is it maybe a different VIN in the MULf2-HI? Any advice is welcome! Thanks! |
