FCP Euro is typically my supplier of choice. ECS Tuning, Turner, OEMbimmerparts... lots of good options.

I've never bought anything from Rockauto, but just a quick google of them makes me want to stay away.

Agreed, stay away from Amazon, Rock auto etc. Stick with a smaller shop supplier that can verify authenticity. Last set of delphi fakes I had seen had very shiny black plastic, the metal sleeve wasn't very tight on the coil body and the boots were falling off in the box. Red flags right away.

I've order quite a few items from R/A before without issues. However, they do sell some crappy lower quality brands that you should stay away from. To save a few bucks and ending up getting a part with poor fitment/craftsmanship isn't fun.

Yes, Rock Auto sells cheap brands, but they also sell some quality brands that are counterfeit. As a general rule, any car part with a profit margin over 100000000% (e.g. spark plugs, coils, sensors, etc.) will be counterfeit from most suppliers. And no, I don't mean "aftermarket" or "reproduction", I mean completely fake and illegal garbage. It's a rampant epidemic that has hit the auto parts market much in the same way it has hit handbags, wristwatches, DVDs, etc.

i have bought literally hundreds of parts from rock auto. They are a solid company. Never bought BMW parts from them but they sell cheaper parts. I used them for mazda and hyundai. They ship fast and have never failed me.

they also have very competitive prices

Don't get wrong, their prices are somewhat reasonable. Too bad some of the shipping charges are ridiculous, especially with such parts as brake rotors.

Most of the parts I've ordered from them have decent shipping charges. Just watch out for times when they claim one part is from one location and the other parts (on your order)is from another location. One may be $10 for s/h while other is like $18.95....even if it weighs less than 1lb. When you factor that into the total pricing, you're better off getting the parts elsewhere.
