RB Turbo / VTT GC lite comparison pictures.

Just some comparison photos of RB next gen plus (17t) and VTT GC lites (16t)

turbine sizes seem to be the same. RB plus has a slightly larger compressor wheel.

One of these brands are going to be installed soon the other for sale!

Definitely looks nice! Are you saying that you have one pair of RBs and one pair of GC lites?

The wastegate assemblies look identical to the wastegate assemblies on the updated OEM turbos from Mitsubishi whereby the wastegate actuator is 8mm so it pushes more out at full stretch when you come off boost so to minimise wastegate rattle. Did RB and VTT just duplicate the updated wastegate assembly from the OEM turbos?

Yes, its a Eeny, meeny, miny, moe situation.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did. Both wastegates feel solid.

Are these RHD compatible or will it require you to modify before installing?

RB Turbos are in and there is no smoke, base terbila e85 tune (no revisions yet). Ill do a proper review once the tune is complete.
Huge difference from stock turbos. Mid range you get this big kick almost like a larger single turbo, really pushes you into your seat and the car slingshots forward.

I'm not naming the shop but here are the issues from day one of picking the car up from this shop which I have spent many hours fixing up myself.

1. When i picked the car up one turbo was rattling out of the driveway! Found 1 vac canister bottom hose out. (rattle fixed)

2. Could not boost past 4 psi on my way home. Had a look the next morning and both intercooler T clamps were loose with one of the IC pipe's popped out.(tightened them up, put the pipe back in and went for a test drive)

3.During the test drive car boosted fine(happy me), then a loud POP! on the 2nd pull. Rear turbo RB silicon outlet pipe came out. Pretty sure the clamp(on the adapter) was not tightened here too. Car went back to shop they put the hose back in and tightened the clamp.

4. Next day car was pulling really well, power was really good. BUT the car was always spiking boost to 30-36PSI, lucky i had Jb4 connected(with 24 psi failsafe) so I noticed this. Found out the vac hoses on the boost solenoid where wired wrong on both turbos hence the wastegates were not opening !!!

Anyway, the issues are resolved and tuning will start this week. Turbo's are healthy.
