Hey all, recently I made a post trying to troubleshoot a code 30ff with a wierd whining noise.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...7#post22931237 As it turns out...the turbos are shot. The car is already on the lift and waiting for some Pure Stage 2 Turbos to come in... Is it safe to run these turbos without any tune? I've read that the MHD maps are for the stock turbos...would I cause any damage sticking to stage 1+? Should I just keep it on the stock tune? Lastly, should I bite the bullet and go JB4? Right now the car has: -VRSF OEM Location Inlets -Unknown brand fmic I do have a VRSF Chargepipe with a Tial bov that I'm gonna install once I get the car back. |

Any time I've seen aftermarket turbos on an OTS tune, the logs have not been pretty -they move a lot more air than stock turbos. I recommend you drive easy (no WOT) until you get an appropriate tune on her.

Do you think JB4 will be sufficient or should I be looking at a custom tune instead.

I have been running the pure stage 2 dd turbos for over a year and for 10,000 miles so far with no issues. I run the jb4 with the off the self back end flash for E85 and for aftermarket hybrid turbos. I run 50%91 octane and 50%e85. It come out to be about 45%-47% ethonal according to my fuel it ethonal content sensor. I run 19psi of boost and it runs great. I Never dynoed or or tuned the car
