Inlet nipples function?

What are the ~1-1/2" x 2" nipples on both the inlets for? Am I missing something, or is this a male car and doesn't have tits. Actually mine is capped off but not sure why. Saying that I just put the vrsf inlets on.

note sure what your talking about without a pic. are you 2nd 3rd etc owner? Someone before you might have pulled the BOV re circulation tubes off and capped them.
