Exhaust

Hey Guys!

I have a 2011 335i xdrive (sedan) auto.
Last year i did PE mod which it sounded good. Not loud. Just the way I wanted.
Deep tone and not to loud

Last January, i installed vrsf catless DP. I didn’t like the sound at all. I think it’s loud and raspy.
I like the sound when i had stock dp and pe mod.

Should i just add a vibrant resonator?
1790 or 1792?

Or replace my PE mod exhaust with a stock muffler?

Appreciate any input

I was straight piped with catless dp and it was so loud and raspy and had metallicy noises. Added two 1790s and it really cleaned it up and refined it. Probably made it 25%~ quieter. With pe mod I think you'll really like it

Add the vibrant resonators, it'll sound more like before, just a tad deeper and louder. Plenty of people here have done the same and have been happy with the results, including me.

There’s a whole thread about this.

But you should just add vibrant resonators for sure.

If your X drive has cats in the mid pipes then swap remove them and replace with vibrant.

Not sure if there is space, you are better of for performance and sound to remove the cats and replace with resonators.

It won't be obnoxious

I think I used 1790 on my car.

Both have been said to work as they are so close in size, 2.5 vs 2.25 inch

Interesting, I'm PE mod with stock dp and really liking the sound but was considering going catless. Might save my money thanks to your post. Was gonna be doing it for the sound more than the power gain.

That’s what im leaning towards to. But should i remove the
Secondary Cat and replace it with the resonator?
Or
Install the resonator in between sec cat and Hpipe?

In my case I have no secondary cats, mine are where the secondaries would be on an XDrive or N54 model. It's a good spot for them.

I install catless downpipe with corsa 3.5 inch.

The sound is just unbelivable.

No drone, at cruising speed you hear nothing like stock and when you open it it's another game.

Lot of people ask me what the hell is this exhaust. It's just really nice and under 92 db.
