Squeeking Shocks/Struts?
2009 328xi, 160k km. Every time I hit a bump the rear of my car squeaks. I'm guessing this is a shock or strut issue? Any ideas on the cause/cost to repair?
Thanks everybody, I'm not exactly a "car guy"! |

Open trunk, and push car down/up (push on the plastic where the latch is). If you hear squeaking it's rear ball joint, #3 on the diagram. If replacing, it would be a good idea to replace #2 bushing as well. As chris@strutmonkey said, it may be worth while replacing front/rear struts/shocks along all of their components if its never been done, including the two bushings I mentioned. I would say you're looking at around $1000 to get all this done if you're source your own parts. Last edited by Wolf 335; 04-09-2018 at 09:05 AM.. |
