Turbo?
Searched forum and found no answer. Back in 1993 or so, mazda rx-7 turbos were having serious engine issues. I recall reading somewhere that it was important to let a turbo-charged motor idle for about one minute before shutting down. Can anyone add any input and if the 335i should idle for a minute before shut down. Thanks.

I was told something similar when I asked about having to let the car idle after being driven. However, I still plan to do so if I've just run the hell out of it. Better safe than sorry, IMO.

Ya Ive asked about that too, and there is no need to worry but you should let the engine warm up before running it hard. I have made that mistake a couple of times (late for work)

Not totally true. Yes this does happen but its the water pump that stays on, not the oil pump. SO, oil stays inside the turbine and cokes if it is hot enough. This is only necessary after a really hard run or a stint on the track but after either of those activities I definitely advise letting your engine idle for a minute or so before shutdown to let the oil circulate a bit. Harder the run = longer the idle before shutdown.
