Ista-d and Bmw standard tools

Hi, I am new to coding and diagnostics.

I have both the Ista-d and Bmw standard tools including Inpa and Ncs expert etc. How do I go installing both on the same computer, windows 10? Do I install Ista or the standard tools first?

Thanks!!

Doesn't matter which order you install it in.

they both work off edbias as a source of data
files.(often referred to as Daten files)
Most of us have used the Inpa suite first.

Bmw standard tools is to install the Inpa suite last
time I looked. Both Inpa and Ista must have there paths
pointed at the ebdias file path.

Thanks Ctuna for the info and the links.

Can I use the same ebdias file path for both inpa and ista? Or they must be seperated?

As far as I know you only need it in one place.
(wouldn't make sense if it didn't)
You need a lot of room for the ista database files.
Either program makes calls to edbias for the programs
that it contains.
Inpa suite is and Engineering tool used by BMW engineers.
Ista is what the mechanics at the dealerships get.
Ista is a black box to them the run the procedure it works or
it doesn't they can't go deeper from there.
