Regarding HP returns
Hi Fellas,
Some of you may know, i'm new to BWM and own a 328xi from 2007. it has like 62k KMs on it so it's a pretty happy car. The point of this post is to get a feeling for power returns after i mod the car. So, I have a 3 stage intake i will install and i will be doing the Performance Exhaust mod to my stock muffler, and also an AA tune. Since I will not be doing a Dyno, ever, the real numbers are irrelevant to me, but what I was wondering is if the 3 stage with Exhaust/tune mods will improve power more so than just the 3 stage with tune. Thank you in advance. |

You really can’t feel any difference on mods that are under 10hp. 15-20hp is where you really start to be able to notice a change.
So you should be able to do some research and figure out which mods you are considering will make a felt change and which are only visible in gps timers and dynos. Exhaust mods you really want headers (~20hp) to make a worthwhile difference. A secondary cat delete is also worth maybe 8hp. Any other exhaust mods are not worth much maybe 3-5hp. |

Skip the exhaust and do the 3 stage the, MVS/MILVS and a good tune. The torque is what you'll feel the most on the automatic. Last edited by Taskmaster; 05-10-2018 at 05:11 PM.. |

3 stage, Milvs, and tune. Best bang for the buck. If you can deal with headers, they are good Gains as well. Everything else is "white noise". I'm not 100% sure about the AWD but I would try running the EU version of the 330 tranny tune. It should manage the extra power a little better and shift points will be better suited for your new power band. |

It's unfortunate that half of what you said is out of my knowledge base. Can you clarify what Milvs is, and does a AA tune include the Tranny tune? |

Well you have AWD, so that doesn't help your gains.
