2011 E90 vs 2010 E90 ix Front Sport Springs?
I have a friend that is looking to replace his stock springs on his 2010 E90 xdrive sedan, manual tranny. He's looking for a set of BMW sport springs identified as D5 in the rear and D6 in front. The intent is to just close the wheel gap some.
I have a set of BMW sport springs from my 2011 E90 sedan, auto trans. They are identified as D5 for the rear, and D7 for the front. Can anyone tell me if my fronts would fit on his strut? Is there a difference in spring rate, and if so, what is it? I tried to find PN's on realoem, and do some comparison type shopping on FCP Euro and ECS Tuning. It appears that there are different PN's for replacement lowering springs from Dinan, H&R, etc. But I have no idea what the actual differences are. Any help and input is greatly appreciated. |

What spring codes are on his car currently?
To answer your question though, yes, there's a difference between D6 and D7: https://www.drive2.com/l/9677256/ Will they "fit?" Yes. The car may end up being taller than expected though given that the static height of the D7 spring is taller and the spring rate is stiffer than the D6; especially since his car is "lighter" than an xi equipped with an automatic or a 335d even. Went back and found a bunch of other threads on the subject that I've saved over my travels...hope they help: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1191341 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=857285&page=4 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=13 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=583071 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=435450 |
