Turbo vs NA 7000ft
Here in mexico city we are at 7000ft over sea level.
Here the cars lose MANY horsepower! the NA are more punished than the turbos. You can feel when you go to sea level!! like if you have gained 20% or more power. So here in mexico the 335i will be a pretty fast car compared with many NA cars. (M3, S4, CLK500 etc..) thats one of the main reason i am buying one! I currently own a Seat Toledo 1.8t 180hp. with some mods about 220hp. i have compared to 06 330 and i win.... slightly but i win. I have the chance to race a Contour SVT 200hp here at 7000 ft and at sea level. At sea level the difference is minimal. But at 7000ft WOOOW 0 to 100mph my toledo has an advantage of 4 to 5 cars! I love TURBOS!!!!:rocks:

Congrats on making the decision to buy a 335...
Please just dont make this sounds like a debate I heard on the IS300 forum (when I was originally looking at an is300 some years ago)... but If I do ____, ___ and _____, my modded car will be so much better than your stock _____. |

that is a good comparison though.. i would have never thought about the altitude difference. i also like 10 minutes from the coast so its not an issue for me. Good luck with the new car

HI
Parts of the city here are at 6,000 feet, with most around 5,500 I can tell you aircraft engine data here shows NA engines loose about 18% of their power here. So we are expecting the 335i to run very strongly against the E46 M3 up here

You should have no problem out-running an e46 M3 at that altitude with a 335i. |
