My car is monaco blue, and I dislike the color red.

So the real question I'm asking is whether there is a difference between this and the BMS DCI. My gut says no, but I know Terry did a bunch of testing a few years back, plus there's this article.

I like the blue filters. I don't care for the carbon fiber looking bits, though.

No, I don't think so, I bought blue filters and made my own pipes and adapters to fit them. All in I'm at about 50 bucks. I only went this route because I wasn't sure if it was something I ultimately wanted in the first place.

With that said, they're cheap Amazon sourced filters, and I have no clue if they're actually helping or hurting performance...or what amount of filtering they're actually doing.

Have you done any research on Pinnacle branded filters? Is that an actual brand with some R&D to back their product? Or, just a BS name to appear as such?

Pretty sure it's just sourced from China. They have a site, but it's nothing special.

I just checked it out...at least they're focusing on BMW and the N54/55 and have a line of products available. FMICs don't look half bad.

Have you bothered to go on the BMS site lately?

They offer filters in Red, White, and Blue.

It looks like to be very similar to BMS DCI.

The thing that probably matters is that the filters themselves are good quality ones and correctly oiled.

I did check them recently, and I thought I only saw options for red and white. I very well may have missed it. Have they always offered blue?

Actual 100% 3k carbon fiber tube, not carbon fiber looking bits.

BMS offers blue filters, red filters, and white filters. And it's the only DCI that is 50-state emissions legal. Comes in handy when you get pulled over.

AFE has blue filters. BMS is a good product too. Why DCI? I know it's cheap and cost effective. Have looked into CAI boxes ?

I've looked into them, but would rather save some money on the intake over a CAI box. I'm about out of modding money for this year. My car has been on jack stands for a couple months as I've gone through and done the front and rear suspension, OFHG, OPG, walnut blasting, and drivebelt and pulleys. I've added the front turbo washer fix and DCI to the list. I've had to fit the work in between stupid stuff like fixing the house, yard work, being an involved dad and husband, etc., which is why it's taking so long to get everything done. I set a budget for myself to do all those things to the car and am starting to make a list for next winter.

So far I'm planning on doing FMIC, DPs, and inlets next January.
