Airbag Seat-Belt Warning Lights

Yesterday lunch time I was greeted with the Airbag Warning Light when I started my car. And the Seat-Belt Warning Light is on too. It's not a temporary glitch as they are still on after driving my car a few times last night.

Top stories on Google are where dealers/mechanics keep changing various things because the light keeps coming back and some people say they solved it by just changing one thing. So hopefully with your help guys I can locate the problem and avoid changing many expensive components.

I did an INPA check and there are two new errors but they don't look airbag related. Maybe they are caused by the swirl-flap delete I did recently or something to do with my ECU having been replaced not long ago. I want to make sure I don't go on a wild-goose chase here.

How do I proceed to solve this Airbag Warning Light problem? Should there be an error message for the airbags? I unplugged the yellow box under the drivers seat a few times but that made no difference.

What do you guys think?

Unplugging the yellow box / connector under the seat will cause the airbag light to appear if you unplugged it with the battery still connected.

Clearing fault codes usually rectifies that.

What are the fault codes you're getting? I'm wondering about the seat occupancy sensor.

Bishbosh, I completely forgot about error reading with the stalk :P

It's CC ID 97

Seems it can be caused by either a faulty pretensioner or occupancy sensor or just a temporary glitch in the wiring connections. But the more I read about this the more I am confused. In one video the guy replaced a pretensioner and the light went away, in another the error had to be cleared manually. But many posts online say that once the light is on only a dealer can clear it...

Anyways, it seems I was trying to read the errors wrong. I went to the Engine instead of Body > Seat Module .....

But when I tried it this is what I got:

You have a seat module if you have memory seats or seat heating.

It's been a while since I used inpa, is it not under Chassis rather than body? General error codes I mean.

There is supposed to be an easy way to bypass the seat occupancy sensor as I've heard it can be troublesome, a quick search on here should hopefully yield results

Thanks bishop, you are probably right, I'll try the Chassis, I saw a couple of videos where they went to Body and so did I. I was now worrying about my INPA or the cable being bad. I hope you are right.

It was't the Chassis either. But then I remembered that I can select the top line (Select E90 V1.32) and then I think it's Functional Jobs. Found loads of errors there. But as soon as I cleared them the Airbag Light was gone and stayed gone after an engine restart. I hope it's still gone after I had a drive tomorrow.
