In Canadia land, The spoils of war are divided equally.

So, wife has house in her name (though a marital home is considered split 50/50 no matter who pay's the mortage), wife also has a pension, company shares, a nice little savings account.

All told she has more asset's than me, so has "more to loose"
The only thing she would get, is my daughter, regardless if she was a druggie, hooker and I a model pillar of the community. (Men are 3rd class citizens in Canadia)

So, even with my savings, I would come out ahead. Or at least to a position I was in when I first landed, however my years of service and pension (had I not left the UK) would have been lost, had I not got married so I would be on a looser.
