peice of sh*t is defective..
But can confirm , all plugs from the car fit, and if the panel had worked.. the system would be quite usable.

Im waiting for the seller to contact me

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I have just done this exact change last weekend and although the swap seems fine at first, my a/c no longer works... The light comes on but I get no cold air. If I swap it back to the old panel, it works again, so it's not the a/c that's broken. Has anyone else come across this? Is coding of some kind needed? Are there different climate control systems associated with the different front panels? I don't seem to be able to find anything about it online...

Just swap the knobs!

When I was installing my Dynavin I also snagged an LCI HVAC panel (with integrated heated seat switches) so that I wouldn't have to relocate my switches to the ashtray. The problem was that my original HVAC panel had chrome trim on the knobs while the LCI panel I got (for a great price) had satin/brushed trim on the knobs. It took all of 20 min to swap over my old knobs to the new panel... assuming you were just trying to upgrade the black knobs to chrome knobs like the OP.

The new unit had a damned warranty label on it so I couldn't pull it apart to swap the knobs over without then being unable to return it if I still couldn't get it working... However, I managed to code the new panel successfully and now it is all working as it should I used NCS Expert to read the IHK module code from the old unit, then swapped them over and wrote the code back to the new one.

Comparing the code in more detail with NCS Dummy, the differences were many - the new unit was from a 4-cyl diesel 1-series, and my car is 6-cyl petrol 3-series, they have different water pump and heater setups, and many different parameter settings, so many differences in fact that I'm surprised it worked at all!

the new panel should be coded to car options
and if you get panel from >09/2008 car to older car you'll lose REST function and PTC heater in heater core may stop to work
so for pre-lci car it is better to look for pre-lci panel with chrome knobs, it is also exists
lci panel can have seat heating buttons integrated
