Get the PE mod done along with new tips.
Changing the tips surely won't change the sound

Update:
The seller has got Duke Dynamics CF rear diffuser, if purchase more than 1 piece, he can do $355 USD, fair price?
Shipping should be free too if I remember correctly.
Anyone interested?

1. What is a fairing? You will need a new diffuser for quad tips.

2. No tips dont change the sound

I have got a question, what is the OEM inlet diameter?
Some say 2.25" some say 2.5"

Does it matter if I order a smaller or larger inlet diameter tip?

Thanks

Measured the inlet circumference and it is 18cm, diameter is 2.25" (57mm). All good.

Just wonder though, should I order slightly larger tip so that tip can slide into the inlet pipe? Or better order the same diameter and just weld it on the inlet pipe?
Just thinking if the tips are larger than the inlet pipe will cause exhaust gas leak?

Got a custom exhaust done so from the front pipe all the way to the tips. They custom made a Y pipe from the muffler for the tips. Look the looks on these so went this route.

Even if the diameter is same or smaller they will put it on a pipe extender and open it up a bit so it can slide over the cut section. Then it will be welded on.

I am not sure if they could do the same if its over sized and need reduction. I sure they could but would require some additional material removal/cutting.

So with that said getting one that is same size would be the best.

Looking to do this now for my 2008 e92 335i. Will these just clamp on because it shows it has clamps on the replica akropovic exhaust tips? No need for welding?

If so im going to buy this asap and slip it on myself real quick

You would need to have the stock tips cut off if you want to put them onto your stock exhaust, even then, I’m not sure slip on tips will work, they might need to be welded on as the stock exhaust isn’t designed to receive them.
