2006 BMW 325i Prewired Phone Options
I have been reading thru threads on this and other forums for weeks now and I am still not sure about which options to install.
My E90 is prewired for telephone in the trunk and has the steering wheel buttons and the radio is the BMW Professional without the bluetooth icon. What I want is to answer my iPhone 5s thru the stereo with the steering wheel buttons and stream music bluetooth from my iPhone to the stereo. I have found a plethora of adapters for streaming music via the aux jack in the center console...but I would like to control the music selection with the stereo instead of the iPhone screen. Can someone recommend which setup (TCU, MULF, Combox). I don't care about any of the other options that were available. Basically I would like bluetooth phone and music. I know this has been covered a lot here, but I am a little confused about the most practical way to do this. I have included what I have found so far. Yes I have access to coding and initializing the module(s)... thanks Last edited by michaiel; 05-22-2018 at 12:00 PM.. |

Might be easier and way cheaper to do something like this.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bluetooth-A...NYyQ-s&vxp=mtr Looks like a Dension gateway 500 bluetooth clone. There are some big threads on the subject and a lot of reviews on cheap bluetooth adpaters most don't do steering wheel controls or require usb and aux at a minimum. |

did you have a cd changer already installed?
Mine doesn't and I was told I have to "enable my cd changer option" in the stereo. I have a scanner that supports this function, but I cant get the stereo to show a cd changer. It is possible it would show up as soon as you plug the box in. Could you clarify this for me? I sent them information and a pic of my stereo and it is supposed to work with this box. thanks |

You have to enable the opton for the cd changer through
a coding program . No it won't show up you have to code it in. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1499808 You need the Inpa coding suite and a K/d can cable for a 06 I don't think you can do this with a scanner. Even a bmw scanner unless they have included it in some kind of canned programming. Last edited by ctuna; 06-11-2018 at 04:32 PM.. |

thank you for the clarification...
I have the software for the ability to code on a PC. Can I code it first to make sure it is going to get CDC to show up before I order the box? Excellent link and instructions... thanks |

I would try just adding the vo option for the cd changer or editing the
2urad file so that cdc say activ (becareful of the spelling of activ) just remove nicht. The removing or prep in the VO i don't think is necessary. I think the above will be enough to get the cdc enabled. Editing the 2urad file and removing nicht from the cdc is what I would test first. Please report back It would be nice to see what the sub menus under cd changer are for the A2DP, the usb , the sd and aux. Last edited by ctuna; 06-11-2018 at 04:49 PM.. |

Using the coding software should force the change.
If you where using ista P it checks for a module before it will program and the module must be in the VO. The coding software makes the change as long as it can talk module its coding in this case the radio. Also the this information apply s to the pro radio not and idrive car. IN and idrive car there might be more than one module that gets changed. |
