I have an 08 E93 with iDrive and NAV. I've heard of people upgrading the software so iDrive doesnt look so dated? Can someone give me a quick rundown on what I have to do to upgrade it? I dont even know what to call this so I can search.

Questions?
Can I upgrade via software only or do I have to purchase / swap out modules?
Which modules? Do I need to replace the screen aswell?
Can I upgrade via my KBAN cable?

It's expensive to upgrade to a CIC UNIT. I have the CCC running the latest firmware and updated 2018 maps dvd. Yes it doesn't look as nice menu wise as the newer BMW iDrive menus but it works pretty well for what I need. That's why I have been reluctant to spend money on it
