Maintenance/Upgrades during DP install?

I'm planning on getting my catless DP put on my N55 xdrive pretty soon here. Apparently, it's a massive pain in the ass on an xdrive and I'm guessing it will take my mechanic a nice chunk of the day to complete. Is there anything else I should consider doing while he's got it all torn apart for the downpipe?

It's not too terrible but did take me a while. Maybe check plugs and coils since you have to take apart some of the engine plastics to get to the o2 sensors

I was thinking maybe upgraded diverter valve or something? Not sure how many guys actually do that/if it's necessary for Stage 2. I did the plugs and coils just a few thousand miles ago, so I think I'm good on that!

Only upgrade the diverted valve if doing a bigger turbo and even then I would wait until you do the turbo to upgrade the DV

if you have the funds and haven't done so already, might want to tackle the water pump and t-stat. you'll be moving the steering rack already and be in that general area. otherwise, there's not a ton that would be duplicate labor.

mounts last a long time.. 160K plus but if you are going to be down there id do it. Gaskets are another story... you never know when those go.

my guy didn't need to move the steering rack. but he did check my wastegate, oil pan and motor mounts, everything checked out! He managed to tear everything down and finish the install in 3 hours having never done a downpipe on an N55 or an xdrive. The man is a BMW wizard

I know my 335i is RWD but the first install took me 3 hours. I can now swap it in 1 hour.
