Request for a sticky in Brake and Suspension section

I can't seem to find a straight answer as to whether adding lowering spring by themselves, i.e. Eibach or H&R, without changing the struts/shocks will shorten the life of the stock struts/shocks.

So, how about a sticky reflecting what the truth is?
