help multiple cylindar misfires when running e85 (JB4)

So i put in some e85 to try that out with the JB4. Things ran normal for a bit, but later i started getting misfires. These are occuring from idle up to about 2800 RPMs seems to be cylinder 3, and 6 and occasionally 5.

happens on map 0, 1, 5, and 4.

Log files are attached.

I would estimate my e85 mix to be around e35 if i have about 5 gallons of e85 in with a full tank of 93 (10%eth)

would the e85 cause a multiple cylinder misfire possibly?

looking at my logs and from my own research today, i would think my fuel pump numbers look as expected.

I only notice the ign increases when the misfire happens, nothing with FP drops.

Its mostly strange to me that multiple cylinders are misfiring and not just 1.

Ran fine before JB4 was put in, has about 7k on it since coils, and 12k since plugs.

Thoughts? advice?

Not enough full throttle to evaluate anything here. Don't see any setting issues though either. Maybe just need new plugs.

For The WOT pull how long does that need to last. My car is automatic, so a redline pull in 3rd gets me going about 90+ MPH and not many areas that i can do that for long around here.

Also is it possible that if say the E85 mix was to high, it would cause a misfire? I don't see any signs that my fuel pumps were over working in the logs, and since its happening at idle and not WOT i don't think it would be a fuel pump issue.

Yea i'm going to try replacing the plugs It would be low mileage for them to fail this quickly since i last replace them 15K miles, but i did also order them on amazon... they looked new but who knows... I might order a couple of coils to have spares. incase the plugs make no difference.

I Had not researched very much at that point.

I ordered all the stuff i need to do the walnut blasting as well. So i think my game plan is going to be to put new plugs in this weekend and see if that fixes it, if not im going to move the coils around and see if it follows. IF that fails then i'll try again after the walnut blast.

What should i look for to tell if my injector is leaking. IM hoping to not have to buy a set of those, but at 72k, it seems like several people has had to replace them with a lot less mileage.

Ok so today after sitting for the weekend I go to turn the car on, and it was really bad, misfires on all but cylinder 1. I filled back up once I got to the store with only 93, cleared and reset everything and am back to only getting one misfire on cylinder 5.

Now I'm thinking maybe a hpfp. What's your thoughts on this?

I am putting in a new set of ngks this week so I'll know if the plugs we're the problem

I'm not an expert on this but I'm pretty sure that the tolerances become VERY slim when running e85; especially if it's a full e85 mix.

A few things to consider:
- the gap for the plug when running ethanol should be smaller so you may need to regap the plugs that you purchase going forward
- a lot of people run a step colder plug
- plugs aren't going to last as long and when they start to go the problem will seem a lot more egregious than if you were running 93. That's probably why it felt less severe when you switched.

Missfires can be 1 of many things. Start with the basics and double check everything, most common issues are plugs or coils and injectors

SO the ones that are in now are bosche, they have probabaly about 16-18 k on them.

SO im betting the E85 finshed them. Im going with the 1 step golder NGK's that can be regaped to work with the n54. hopfully this makes the difference. plugs arrive on wednesday.

Good choice on the plugs - I went with them and gapped them to .022 and they've been fantastic.

With regards to the coils, I would agree that your Bosch may be dead. Those coils have been known to be iffy anyway. I learned about Eldor coils (still OEM) as they make the 2013-up coils if I remember correctly. They've also got N54 coils now. I installed them along with my NGK plugs and out of the box they seemed like a more durable part.

ok so it was definitely the plugs 2 of them the center piece between the 3 prongs were gone. Old coils were good.

I'll be doing a walnut blast over the weekend, and trying out more e85 next week when i fill up again.

Thanks for all the help guys!
