Gramalidi's is a super-popular pizza place that is perfect for out-of-towners since it is "under the Brooklyn Bridge" and near Brooklyn Bridge Park with some spectacular views of the bridge and downtown Manhattan. They moved to a larger venue in 2011, but you should still expect a major wait. Cash only. (image attached, note the line)

If you're in the southern part of Brooklyn L&B Spumoni Gardens in Gravesend is known for their delicious Sicilian pie. It's definitely a place I'll go when in the area.

I've never heard any official confirmation, but I always think L&B was the inspiration for the pizza place in the now-canceled comedy show Kevin Can Wait. The inside bares no resemblance, but the outside seating area looks like a carbon copy.

Yeah, I think Lemmie meedys good tips from the NYC area too.

We used to do this meal photo exchange thing. He kicked my ass every time and I'm a fucking food snob!
Heh...kicking ass is a bit of an overstatement no? I think 70% of the time it's oysters, escargot, roasted marrow bones, or some combination of the three, 20% Bloody Mary, and 10% other.

I do have to say that Per Se is not worthy anymore.

I count a success percent less than sixty in my favor as a complete defeat, especially when I get schooled on sauce and dressing names (and cheeses and bread and we'll fuck everything) while losing.

I always say you can make a great pizza with a fried cat, but it'll have no flavor without some bacon and spice.

I guess one way to open Pandora's box is to kick it. Now I'm craving Greek. Speaking of,GB Roof Garden at the Grande Bretagne in Athens is really good. Great views of the Parthenon and Old Temple of Athena to boot.

That’s what I’ve heard. Even though they’re on opposite coasts, I always thought that The French Laundry was the better of Keller’s top two. When in NYC, I’ve always preferred Le Bernardin.

Bringing back memories that's for sure.

Forget the desert cart though, I'm all about that bread cart they had.

I've got to add fade Street social, in Dublin Ireland. Incredible food, and you will never forget the black cauliflower.

Thumbs up

Thought of another one...

Local favorite Rutt's Hut in Clifton New Jersey won the top spot in The Daily Meal's "America's 75 Best Hot Dogs." (full list)

Around here (north Jersey) Rutt's Hut is a classic. The place opened in 1928 and looks like you stepped back in time. The whole look is super old school. Their fried hot dogs (affectionally nicknamed "rippers" due to their ripped-open casings) and their delicious, unique relish are worth a visit if you're ever in the area. Another local tip that doesn't get the same level of press as the hot dogs and relish, is to also try their chili on your ripper. I usually get 2 rippers, one with relish, and one with chili. Add a beer and enjoy!

I generally find leaving this country and going to Europe is best. Small, off the beaten path type places blow my mind there. Recently in Madeira and wow, amazing food......and cheap too. Wine, amazing. Italy, Spain too.
